La Trobe University Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Overview

La Trobe University’s four-year law course provides an accredited professional qualification in law in Australia, but also requires students to complete subjects in another non-law discipline of choice such as science, politics, media studies or marketing, without having to complete a separate degree in that discipline. La Trobe University’s Law program offers an innovative, high quality legal education with a global and social justice perspective and a real emphasis on hands-on experiences. It includes all the compulsory law subjects required by the Council of Legal Education for admission to practice in Victoria, Australia and a wide range of law electives, many with a practical skills component, such as Clinical Legal Education, International Advocacy, Mediation and Negotiation.
The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) offered through La Trobe University’s Law School in Australia is designed for high school leavers and tertiary students who have not yet completed an undergraduate degree. Students may apply to transfer into a five-year combined degree, should they wish to complete a second degree such as a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science in conjunction with their Bachelor of Law (LLB) at La Trobe University. The course is also available at the Bendigo Campus, but students commencing their studies at Bendigo normally transfer to Melbourne after two full-time years of study where they complete the remainder of their course.
