Bond University’s Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program in Australia is a professional legal qualification with direct entry from high school. Students do not require an initial undergraduate degree prior to entering Bond University’s Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program.

Bond University’s Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program equips students for a career in the legal profession, business, industry or government, both within Australia and overseas. Its combination of excellent teaching, small classes and extensive legal skills program provides an exciting learning experience that both challenges students academically and prepares them practically for a legal career.

State-of-the-Art Facilities

Bond University’s Legal Skills Centre is a landmark industry training facility, incorporating the technologies, equipment and teaching capabilities required to meet the needs of the legal profession in the 21st century. Built at a cost of $10.2 million, the Centre is the first of its kind to integrate the full complement of legal-based training facilities, with purpose-built suites designed for mediation, dispute resolution, PLT training as well as video conferencing and more. The centrepiece is undoubtedly the full-scale electronic moot court, presenting an ultra-contemporary courtroom setting and equipped with evidence management systems, video conferencing facilities and video streaming that replicates the very latest technology used in the High Court of Australia.

Work Experience & Internships

A clinical legal subject is available as an elective with Bond’s Bachelor of Laws program. Many Canadian students are encouraged and elect to complete clerkships or internships with law firms during their holidays. Current client base includes individuals, trade associations and corporate entities in manufacturing, trading, service, retail, exhibition organizing, property development, construction, environmental protection, shipping, intellectual property, information communication technology, e-commerce, health care, entertainment and media. Internships and work experience do not form part of degree requirements.

Entry into Bond University’s Bachelor of Laws (LLB) is available to students who have completed High School, or students who may not have fully completed an initial undergraduate degree yet.

Professional Recognition

Professional Recognition in Canada

Bond University’s Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program is an approved degree for the purpose of admission as a barrister or solicitor in all Australian jurisdictions. Graduates of Bond’s Bachelor of Laws (LLB) are eligible to apply for licensing in Canada; however, it is critical students understand the requirements needed to complete this process before licensing will be granted. Bond Law teaches four of the Canadian law subjects required by the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) as full semester subjects.  The 5th required subject  is taught as a free seminar to all Canadian students as an extra-circular subject.  Graduates of Bond University’s Bachelor of Laws program are required to sit NCA exams when returning to Canada for licensing.
