Over A Month Already?

I’m really enjoying my time here in England. I still can’t really explain how I feel. Sometimes I’m still confused as to where I am when I wake up, but when I walk around town I feel like I’ve been here forever, even though I’ve only been here for about five weeks.

University life here is great! I don’t know if it’s because it’s just the first year, and I’ve done University before, but it feels really easy. I feel like I have so much time. I’m not spending all my time in Uni working on projects or essays, I actually have time to make friends, have a social life, practice piano, and explore. I even have time to cook every day.

If I have any advice to give, I would tell you to get involved in groups and societies. Especially if you’re a shy person like me! I met people from all over the world in the International Society. Marco (society president) organized a walk for us to Cleeve Hill so we can have a majestic view of Cheltenham from the hill top.

Everyone dressed like it was winter, but it was like 10 degrees Celsius!

The International Society is great! Last week, I got to make hot chocolate for everyone.

I got into a nice morning routine here, I walk to campus with various flat mates and take photos interesting things in the neighbourhood, and of course my flat mates too, because they all look so lovely.

The classes are also very enjoyable. I’m studying animation, so I get to draw all day! The drawing class is basically Drawing 110 at UofA all over again, but I think it’s good practice.

Last weekend, I had an unplanned journey to Oxford. I love how I have time for unplanned journeys. And the other plus side was that it only cost me £2.60 to get there, thanks to Stagecoach! It was the cheapest, but longest possible journey. I didn’t mind though, because I got to see all these beautiful towns and villages along the way.

There are always markets and interesting festivals happening in England! When I arrived in Oxford, there was a market and lots of food!

The following morning, in Summertown, there was Farmer’s Market going on. Farmer’s Market is probably one of my favourite things in England! (It’s also one of my favourite things in Edmonton.) And if anyone could tell me what this red berry is, that would be wonderful! It looks like a beautiful red bead.
