 Want to study Law in the UK? Ever considered Bangor University?

After meeting with the Law school in Bangor University, I wanted to do a quick blog on the school and note some interesting points that were made during my visit.

  • Every Bangor LLB degree is a Qualifying Law Degree which denotes they are all approved by the Law Society of England and Wales and recognized for entry onto professional vocational training to become Solicitors or Barristers.
  • Whilst providing a thorough foundation in the fundamentals of law, Bangor LLB degrees also reflect the legal environment of the 21st century by focusing on developing the legal skills required not only in the UK but also in Europe and the wider international community.
  • Bangor Law School has been given an impressive 92% satisfaction rating in the National Students Survey highlighting the high level of support and smaller class sizes offered at Bangor compared to other larger UK Law schools.
  • If you have a degree from any background in Canada, you can study a 2 year llb in Bangor. This is known as an accelerated law degree.
  • Every Law applicant to Bangor University is eligible for £2,500 and can apply for a £5,000 scholarship at the law school
  • Laws school visit European  legal institutions every year.
  • Employability figures are high due to internships available at Bangor
  • There’s an employability committee that help students get an internship. Most are not paid but they will help students with their travel costs.
  • Annual law fair happens every November at Bangor University. The Uni invite 40 employers to come to meet face to face with students. Most students get opportunities from this event.
  • For any French speaking Canadian students, you have a special option available to you where you can start in University of Toulouse and finish in Bangor University and get a double degree.
  • Examples of some firms that students have gone on to work with are; Gamlins, United Ethiopia and the European Parliament
  • Visit The Hague every year for Law students for a first hand introduction of its international courts and tribunals.
