Bond University’s  Abedian School of Architecture has been named ‘Public Building of the Year’ at the 2014 Gold Coast & Northern Rivers Regional Architecture Awards.

The Architecture building forms one of the new facilities under the newly formed & innovative Faculty of Society & Design.   Not only do they have an award winning building but just last month the faculty secured a mechanical robot (one of 30 in the world being used in architectural education) capable of complex manoeuvres in fabrication & assembly.

The Faculty of Society & Design combines the areas of Architecture, Communication, Creative Media, Humanities, Social Sciences and Sustainable Development, and is one of the most innovative of its kind in Australia offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in many different study areas.

“Our vision for this new Faculty is to deliver students with an innovative, practical and supportive environment in which to study, with degrees informed by research, flexible in their structure and practical in their application,” Professor Mortley said.
