IT Sligo (Col)

As of this week, Institute of Technology Sligo is now an official partner of KOM Consultants. We want to give you as many options as possible when it comes to international study. So many options in fact, that it’s impossible for you to choose where to go! (Insert evil laugh muwahahahahahahaha)

Here’s the first of many blogs on IT Sligo. Let’s get to know a little about it and what it has to offer you :)

1. Canadian study abroad citizens do not need a visa to enter Ireland.

2. Colleges Ontario Advanced Diploma & Diploma graduates can complete an internationally recognised Honours Bachelor Degree at IT Sligo via 1 or 2 years further study at IT Sligo (with or without bridging or alignment studies).

3. Tuition is reduced from €9,000 to €7,500 per annum (C$ 10,500) for Colleges Ontario graduates (inclusive of medical insurance and airport pick-up).

4. IT Sligo also offers a limited number of merit entry tuition fee scholarships amounting to €1,500 each (C$ 2,100) to qualifying Colleges Ontario applicants.

5. IT Sligo is OSAP Aid & Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) approved. Did you know when you study abroad, you are assessed on your own financial situation and not your family’s, so it means you receive more money from OSAP. aren’t they nice! Check out how much you’re entitled to here.

6. IT Sligo is located on an ultra-modern campus in a vibrant student town in the north west of Ireland, accessible by road and rail links to and from Dublin whilst Ireland West Airport (Knock) is less than 40 minutes away by car / bus.

7. Vibrant and diverse international student community of more than 45 different nationalities.

8. Affordable high quality student accommodation (€90 per week including utilities) within a 5 minute walk from the campus. PS €90 is equal to around $120!

9. Students are also permitted to work part-time up to 20 hours per week during term time and up to 40 hours per week outside term time. Minimum wage in Ireland is €8.65, so around $11.50. (If you worked your 20 hours at €8.65 you could earn around €173. One weeks work is almost enough to cover two weeks rent! :)

10. Honours Bachelor Degree graduates can stay on and work for a further period of 1 year in Ireland.

Got a question? Just ask!
