Overview

Australian Catholic University Psychology School Overview

The Master of Psychology (Clinical) is a fifth- and sixth-year program in psychology open to graduates of an accredited fourth-year psychology program. Students will acquire knowledge and skills to prepare for professional practice and research in clinical psychology.

Students further develop ethical values, knowledge and professional skills in psychology, integrated by the scientist-practitioner model.

Entry Requirements

  • Four years of an accredited undergraduate psychology sequence, comprising an Honours degree in psychology, or a three year degree including an accredited sequence in psychology plus an accredited fourth year in psychology
  • Assessment of psychology qualifications by the Australian Psychological Society
  • Referee reports (one professional/personal and one academic)
  • Interview for short-listed applicants

Under the Australian National Law, students must obtain provisional registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia before they commence their program of study, and for the duration of the program. In the event that the Registration Board refuses an application for provisional registration, the offer of candidature in the program will be rescinded – it is not possible to complete the program without holding provisional registration as a psychologist.
