Macquarie University remains a top 10 university in Australia and a top 40 university in Asia Pacific, according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities.

Macquarie University has consolidated its reputation as one of the top universities in Australia with a strong showing in recent rankings surveys.

Last week, Macquarie was named one of the top 50 institutions in the world by the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject when it comes to Linguistics (43rd), Psychology (48th) and Earth and Marine Sciences (48th).

Accounting and Finance, Education, Geography and Law at Macquarie were ranked in the top 100 worldwide.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings also gave our Faculty of Arts a good standing globally, ranking our Arts and Humanities program the 61st in the world.

Meanwhile, the Academic Ranking of World Universities says Macquarie remains a top 10 university in Australia and a top 40 university in Asia Pacific.

Macquarie has also achieved a rating of 5 QS Stars, including the maximum rating in all of the eight major sub-categories.

The QS Stars rating system is used by more than 130 universities in 30 countries. It gives an overall institutional rating and ratings in eight sub-categories: teaching, employability, research, internationalisation, facilities, innovation, access, and specialist subjects.

Macquarie is home to over 11,000 international students from more than 100 countries. Our international mix was recently recognised by Times Higher Education, which ranked Macquarie the 9th most international university in the world. The Academic Ranking of World Universities agrees, ranking Macquarie high in terms of percentage of international students (number 20 out of 737 institutions worldwide).
