Flinders Medical School Application Opens for February 2015

FLINDERS MEDICAL SCHOOL APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN FOR FEBRUARY 2015 ENTRY.

Flinders Medical School offers a 4 year graduate-entry Medical program, Doctor of Medicine.

Applications for the February 2015 intake are now open and will close mid December 2014. There are three distinct rounds: Early Decision Round, Main Round and Late Applications. You may apply to Flinders at any time during the above open application period, however we attempt to fill all places through our Early and Main Decision Rounds.

Early Decision Round

If you apply by 14th April 2014, already have a valid MCAT or GAMSAT score, and have completed (or anticipate completing) your degree this year, you will be considered for the Early Decision Round. Interviews are expected to be offered in May 2014.

Main Round

If you apply by 27th June 2014, already have a valid MCAT or GAMSAT score, and have completed (or anticipate completing) your degree this year, you will be considered for the Main Round. Interviews are expected to be offered in July/August 2014.

Late Applications

If Flinders has any unfilled places at any time prior to the commencement of classes in February 2015, it may, at its discretion, consider applicants who apply during the period of 28th June 2014 until 12th December 2014.

a Bachelor’s degree (completed before commencing Medicine)
Admission Test results (MCAT or GAMSAT)
English Language Requirements

Medicine at Flinders

The Flinders Medical School was the first in Australia to develop a 4 year graduate-entry Medical program, Doctor of Medicine, as an alternative to traditional 5-6 year courses for school leavers. This was an opportunity to rethink curriculum design and the way in which students are selected. Now about 17 years later, the majority of Medical School places in Australia are graduate-entry and as the Australian Medical Council noted in renewing the Flinders Medical School’s accreditation recently: “The curriculum is nationally and internationally recognised and has been adopted by other schools in Australia”.
