bond_logoBond University, located in Queensland, Australia, today announced that 100 new scholarships would be made available for 2014 to celebrate its 25th Anniversary.

The academic, elite sport, leadership and indigenous scholarships will be available to both Australian and international students.

The scholarships, valued at 50% of the tuition fee for a Bachelor degree (excluding Medicine) or a Master’s coursework degree, will be awarded primarily on academic merit, in November this year for the 2014 academic year (January intake).

Bond University Vice-Chancellor Professor Tim Brailsford said these 25th Anniversary scholarships reinforced the University’s commitment to providing increased study opportunities for as many students as possible.

“Bond’s history of attracting the best and brightest applicants worldwide from a broad range of disciplines and backgrounds has been one of our hallmarks, and this expansion of our scholarships will increase the diversity of our student body in the future,” Professor Brailsford said.

“The Bond Scholarship program already supports more students per capita than any other university in Australia, which is a fact we are understandably proud of.”

“These 100 new scholarship students will be the very best from across the nation and the world – exceptionally talented individuals, who will go on to play active leadership roles academically and socially.

“During their time at Bond they will meet high profile movers and shakers, their professors will help them open doors to prestigious internships, and they will forge links with fellow students and the next generation of CEOs, Directors and Senior Executives.”

“This next generation of leaders will have the opportunity to be part of the University’s 25th Anniversary celebrations and will be an integral part of the next chapter of the Bond story.”

Current Bond Scholarship recipient, and President of the Bond University Student Association (BUSA), Matthew McLean said the new scholarships would be the opportunity of a lifetime for the recipients.

“Without the support of my Bond scholarship, I would never have had the life-changing experience of attending this University. This announcement will see that 100 more students receive the incredible opportunity I have,” Mr McLean said.

“Bond’s scholarships are designed to provide high achieving and ambitious students with quality, personalised education, delivered by world-class academics in state of the art facilities.”

“My time here at Bond has helped me develop the skills, knowledge and networks to embark on my career with confidence and enthusiasm. There has never been a more exciting time to become a Bondie.”
