This course brings together the knowledge and skills that are essential for professional IT careers along with subjects in interactive visualization, serious games, big data and data mining, interactive 2D/3D graphics and web technologies, mobile technologies, programming and design thinking, and programming.

The course features creative group problem solving in multi-disciplinary teams through a number of live events and an opportunity for an industry internship or industry based project in your final year.

A JCU graduate on successful completion of the Bachelor of Information Technology graduates will be able to:

  • Demonstrate essential knowledge for a career in technology related professions and practice
  • Synthesize industry standard and underlying principles and concepts for decision making
  • Critically analyse the core professional obligations, values and operations of organizations including sustainability
  • Critically evaluate data & resources in the context of relevant academic literature
  • Apply critical thinking to address IT related issues
  • Convey information clearly and fluently, in high quality written form appropriate for their audience
  • Demonstrate effective oral presentation skills for academic and professional audiences

Entry Requirements

Completion of a provincial high school diploma with Year 12 English. Mathematics B is Desirable.
