Dental students will hone their skills while offering dental services for disadvantaged patients when James Cook University’s new dental clinic officially opens in Townsville.

JCU Dental is a not-for-profit organisation and all monies received are reinvested in the training of the future dental workforce.

The 18-chair JCU Dental facility, housed in the newly opened Clinical Practice Building, will be previewed to the Townsville dental profession today (January 29), and be seeing patients from Thursday (January 30). …

New research from the University of Adelaide shows more than 70% of South Australian teenagers are experiencing insufficient sleep on every school night, with many reporting the overuse of electronic media such as the internet, video games and mobile phones, which could be contributing to the problem.

Researchers from the University’s School of Psychology surveyed the electronic media and sleep habits of more than 1200 students aged 12-18 from seven high schools. …

Canada offers eight English speaking dental schools.   As with other Professional Schools such as Medical Schools, Physiotherapy Schools and OT, applicants far exceed the number of spots available in Canada.
