Entry Requirements for the Bachelor of Veterinary Science

Entry into James Cook University’s Bachelor of Veterinary Science course in Australia is highly sought after, attracting a wide range of excellent applications.   • 12 weeks in approved veterinary practices working alongside registered veterinarians (Year 4)
  • rotational placements in veterinary hospitals, practices, laboratories and government agencies (Year 5)
  • 8 weeks elective in areas such as clinical practice, paraclinical and research (Year 5)

Professional Recognition

The Bachelor of Veterinary Science is fully accredited by the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC), the Veterinary Council of New Zealand and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) in the UK. This means course graduates of JCU will be eligible for registration as veterinarians in all states of Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
