Courses

Deakin Courses

Courses are offered from bachelor to doctoral level, in traditional disciplines such as Arts and Science, in newer
fields such as Sport, Environment and Nutrition, and in professional fields such as Architecture, Law, Engineering,
Nursing, Teaching, Psychology, Business, Accounting and Medicine.

Deakin’s School of Medicine was established in response to acute doctor shortages in rural and regional areas of
Australia. The distinctive medical program contributes to the health and well being of Australians by producing
doctors who are fully qualified, broadly skilled and ready to pursue a career as a specialist or General
Practitioner. Deakin’s Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) has a strong science foundation and an
emphasis on the early development of clinical and procedural skills. Students seeking admission to this four-year,
graduate-entry program must complete an undergraduate degree prior to entry.

Deakin’s flexible courses allow students to choose specialist areas and tailor their degree for maximum employment
