Entry Requirements for the Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary)
Applicants to Griffith University Graduate Diploma of Education Secondary will need a completed Bachelor degree (or equivalent) that does not lead to teacher registration (with a minimum GPA of 4.0 on a 7-point scale) with disciplinary strengths in two distinctive teaching areas.
Applicants must have completed a quarter of their degree (a minimum of six subjects) in their first nominated teaching area. The second teaching area must include a minimum of another six courses for senior secondary or four courses for junior secondary. To qualify for the learning support specialist area applicants must have completed subjects in psychology.

About the Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary)
Griffith’s Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) is a postgraduate entry program.
If you are a graduate from a non-education background and wish to teach in secondary school settings, this degree will give you the necessary skills and knowledge you need to register with the Queensland College of Teachers. You will learn the theory and practice of teaching, as well as about the characteristics of learners and teachers and the social contexts of education. The Graduate Diploma of Education Secondary degree at Griffith University includes education studies, curriculum studies in two nominated teaching areas, and professional experience in secondary school settings.

All other curriculum areas are available at both Gold Coast and Mt Gravatt. If you are studying at the Gold Coast you may select teaching or specialization areas offered at Mt Gravatt and study that teaching area at our Mt Gravatt campus.
Alternatively, if you have completed subjects in psychology in your bachelor degree, you may select one of the above teaching areas and complete the Learning Support specialist area. In the Learning Support courses, you will gain specialist skills needed to provide learning support to students with additional needs. You will be able to work in secondary settings where you advise teachers in their planning and/or teach in secondary special education settings.
Professional Recognition
Professional Recognition in Canada
Graduates will be eligible to apply for registration with the Queensland College of Teachers. This qualification is recognized nationally.
Graduates of Griffith University Master of Teaching are eligible to apply for licensing in Canada, however, it is critical students understand the requirements needed to complete this process before licensing will be granted. has been awarded six Australian Research Council Linkage Project grants worth more than $1.3 million for a variety of research studies.

– Researchers Showcase Malaria Vaccine Project
’s Institute for Glycomics will open its doors to the public to showcase to the community its malaria vaccine project.
The malaria vaccine research team, led by Professor Michael Good, have just finished clinical trials conducted at Griffith’s Gold Coast campus this year and have been working closely with expert infectious disease clinicians at Gold Coast University Hospital.
This is the second round of clinical trials to be conducted by the Institute for Glycomics to examine malaria vaccine strategies in humans. …
