Britain: Tuition, Cost of Living, and Other Costs

The United Kingdom is an attractive destination for Full Degree articulation for several reasons. Notably, it is one of the most prominent countries as it pertains to culture, politics, international business, and media. The United Kingdom consists of England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland… each with its own unique heritage, culture, and customs. From the white cliffs of Dover, to Stonehenge in the south… to the beautiful lochs and castles of rugged Scotland. The landscape is absolutely breathtaking. Furthermore, all these destinations are within a days travel! George Bernard Shaw once said, England and America are two countries separated by a common language.  One cannot help but appreciate the cultural differences after spend time in one of the most unique countries abroad. Moreover, the European Union and its impact on this island nation makes for a unique study experience.

British Universities start their classes in September and run until June.

According to the UK Council for International Student Affairs (2009/10), average tuition fees for North American students range between £4,000 to £18,000 per year depending on the institution, as well as level and type of course work being studied:

Bachelors Degree – Non Lab Based £7,000 to £12,500 per year
– such as arts, business, economics and law

Bachelors Degree – Lab Based £7,750 to £15,000 per year
– such as science and engineering

Graduate Certificates & Diplomas £4,000 to £14,500 per year

Masters and Doctorial Degrees £7,000 to £18,500 per year
